About Michelle Demers

Michelle Demers, MBA, is a multifaceted career woman whose adventures include being a scientist, fundraiser, serial entrepreneur, business coach, marketing consultant, information product creator, author, and speaker.
During her career, Michelle has had extensive experience both as an intern, as well as an intern supervisor.
As an intern:
During her undergraduate college years at the University of Vermont, Michelle, a zoology and environmental studies major, interned for the New England Aquarium as an assistant naturalist on the whale watch and science education boats. As a senior, she did a semester abroad in a marine biology and island ecology experiential learning program with The School for Field Studies in La Paz, Mexico.
Later as an MBA student at Rutgers University, Michelle interned in new product research and development at Berlex Laboratories and did a marketing internship for an online education company.
Post-college, as Michelle was making a career change into business coaching, Michelle spent six months interning as an Assistant Community Coach for the Higher Ground Leadership Community at CoachVille with acclaimed leadership expert, author, and speaker, Lance Secretan.
As an intern supervisor:
Michelle began her career working in fundraising and development for The New Jersey Conservation Foundation, where she worked with interns and volunteers, from students to seniors, on fundraising campaigns, mailings, events, and more. She also researched and pitched the development of a new intern coordinator position, demonstrating the need, benefits, and return on investment this new position would provide.
Later, as Director of Marketing and Communications for Boys and Girls Clubs of MetroWest, Massachusetts, Michelle managed and mentored a variety of volunteers and interns, including an unemployed upper level manager who landed a CFO position with another non-profit, in part, as a result of her internship experience.
In the past several years as a partner at Julie Braun Design, Michelle has worked with oodles of interns on client projects as well as in the growth and development of Super Interns itself. Michelle greatly enjoys being a mentor and helping her interns to grow personally and professionally.

When she’s not being a supershero, swinging from building to building or whipping up snacks in a jif, Michelle enjoys hiking, kayaking, discovering new restaurants, and karaoke. Michelle has always been an active community member, volunteering at animal shelters, wildlife rehabilitation facilities, state parks, and fundraising events for charity, including the Susan G. Komen 3-Day/60 mile cancer walk for the cure. She resides outside of Boston, Massachusetts, with her Tibetan terrier, Birch. She also greatly enjoys her other alter ego, “Auntie Shell,” to her adorable nephews, Aidan and Wesley, Super Interns in the making.
